Wesley Wairing, Dance instructor

I trained with Pamela De Waal in Paignton, an inspirational lady who not only was a massive influence in my life but enriched it by opening up so

many opportunities such as dancing with the Moscow City Ballet, the English National and Vienna Ballet Company. After receiving a full scholarship, I went onto train at Laine Theatre Arts in Surrey when I was

16. It was there I gained my Musical Theatre Diploma.

After graduating, my first contract was with the Stadium Theatre Company for P&O Cruises, Oceania and 12 years later prior to me returning to Devon I once again returned to P&O on the Ventura, Arcadia and Azura

but this time working with the Headliners Theatre Company. I have been fortunate to have worked as a dancer in nearly all genres of dance, in London’s West End ‘We Will Rock You’. Additionally to working

on cruise ships I have toured China with Spirit Productions in "Red Hot Broadway" and South Africa with the "Essence of Ireland" where we played at the Nelson Mandela Theatre. With both companies I have

toured the length and breadth of the UK too. Television appearances include; The Bill, Bad Girls, The Dream Team and Miss Marple and modelling opportunities included working for Calvin Klein, D&G, Hugo

Boss, Quicksilver and Marks & Spencer.

Some of the performers I have been lucky enough to share a stage with include, Ruthie Henshall, Kerry Ellis, Warren Carlisle and Matt Flint at the Aldwych Theatre in London's West End. Pop stars such as Blue, Rachel

Stevens, Sugababes and Kylie Minogue. More recently I have worked with the stars of Strictly Come Dancing including Craig Revel Horwood, Kevin & Karen Clifton, Kevin's sister Joanna Clifton, Giovanni Pernice and

Georgia May Foote.

Jessica Chance , Dance instructor

"Jessica danced at a local ballet school in Helston and danced with Duchy Ballet and Hall for Cornwall Youth Dance for many years. She took part in productions over Cornwall and attended many dance workshops and Summer Schools both in and out of the County. At the age of 18 Jess moved to London to attend the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and completed a BA Hons in Ballet Education – one of the only ballet teaching degrees in the world, which has limited spaces each academic year. Jessica is one of the highest trained ballet teachers in Cornwall, with new and fresh training to compliment the ever-changing dance industry. The Royal Academy of Dance produces highly trained ballet and dance teachers who must undertake vigorous training in ballet, developing their own practise, learning ballet repertoire, ballet theory and Jess’ favourite subject, learning how children learn. This degree specialises in training professional teachers rather than dancers, meaning Miss Jess is a very highly qualified Ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance as well as a very experienced ballerina.

Whilst in London Jessica gained a wealth of experience and had the opportunity to work with many influential people within the ballet and dance industry. Jess coached numerous children who gained successful places in Royal Ballet Associates, Birmingham Royal Ballet and London Children’s Ballet Company. Jessica also coached children for their ballet exams and received a 100% pass rate. Jessica also worked under Principal Royal Ballet Dancer Alexander Campell and First Soloist Claire Calvert at their Co Owned Ballet School in Kingston. During her time at the Royal Academy of Dance, Miss Jessica gained knowledge in all RAD Grades with intensive training up to Advanced 2 Female and Male syllabus and has knowledge in Solo Seal examinations. Miss Jessica was also taught Male Advanced 2 by Joshua Tuifa, ex Royal Ballet Soloist. Miss Jess has also had training in Pointe Work and how to safely train dancers for Pre Pointe and Pointe as well as Ballet Repertoire and Pas de Deux dancing. Now, Jess is the Principal and Founder of the Steren School of Ballet, a new RAD ballet school based in Camborne as well as the Director of My Chance to Dance CIC, a community interest company offering free and accessible dance classes to the Cornish community.
